  My wife and I held our Wedding rehearsal dinner at the Gelston House in May 2004. There are not enough positive words to describe the terrific experience we had there. The property overlooks the gorgeous Connecticut River and was the perfect location to rehearse. The dinner afterwards was first class from top to bottom and everywhere in between. Staff was extremely courteous and the food was sensational.
  
  Each and every guest were raving afterwards about the pleasant and memorable experience they had, asking repeatedly "where did you find this place? I want to come back!" (most guests lived in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, so that says something).

  Another heaven on earth place.... I'm a sucker for vintage...so my review is going to be a lil biased.
  
  While most of their crowd are those who visit the goodspeed opera for a pre-show dinner .... I say just drive down to this wonderful place for the food and experience of dining steeped in tradition alone.
  
  The vintage house overlooks the draw bridge, opera house... and the Connecticut river. While we were seated indoors in what used to be the veranda ...they have outside seating too.

  The restaurant location is fabulous with outstanding views of the Connecticut River, the swing bridge, Eagle Landing State Park, and Goodspeed Opera House. The menu is quite varied with choices from steak to seafood. Service is generally pretty good and the food itself is good. Outdoor dining and a bar area are available during Summer months.
  
  If eating in the more formal dining area isn't your thing, there is a separate pub with a pub menu.
